About the Artist: Henryk Tomaszewski (1914–2005) was a pioneering Polish graphic artist and poster designer, often regarded as the father of the Polish School of Posters. Known for his bold use of color, wit, and minimalism, Tomaszewski transformed poster design into a form of visual poetry. Rather than relying on realistic depictions, he used abstract shapes, playful typography, and humor to convey complex messages in a simple, striking way. His work gained international recognition, earning numerous awards and influencing generations of designers worldwide. Beyond his own creations, Tomaszewski was also a dedicated educator at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, nurturing the talents of future Polish poster legends. His legacy lives on as a symbol of creativity, resilience, and the power of visual communication.
